Elements of Community Group Meetings
Shared Praise
In Community Group meetings, we begin with a time of Praise to the Lord in order to cultivate the vertical dimension of Community. We use a modified form of the Evening Office that is easy to follow and allows for the freedom of the Spirit within the form. Praise Choruses, Hymns, and Canticles may be used.
Shared Scripture
The Bible is a vast storehouse of spiritual life to us in this walk with the Lord. In Community we seek to let the Scriptures speak to us through regular, prayerful Bible reflection in dialogue with each other within the Tradition of the Church, but always with the application to our practical daily walk in view.
Shared Prayer
Prayer is the lifeline for the walk of faith and, prayer with others increases its effectiveness through the principle of agreement. Therefore, in the Community Group meetings, ample time is spent on praying and ministry to one-another. Through agreement prayer, we open ourselves to God and His People and see powerful results.
Shared Service
Not only does Community help us in our daily walk with the Lord, it is also a mobilizing force for Christian service. As we spend time with God and one-another, opportunities for serving fellow group members, the church, and our neighbors allow us to reach out to minister Christ's Love and be a light in the midst of someone's night.
