THE CHURCH
The House of Prayer Apostolic Church of God is located
at 303 E. Monroe Street in Bloomington, IL. Established in 1994,
the church was founded by Pastor Joseph Lee Jarvis and his wife,
Evangelist Mona Jarvis.
The Church is affiliated with the Illinois District Council and
the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.
The church began as a weekly Bible Study alternating between the
homes of two couples in the spring of 1994. We began teaching
adult and youth Sunday School classes in our home in September of
1994. Sunday School and Friday evening Bible studies met at the
Campus Religious Center of Illinois State University from
February of 1995 until April of 1996, when the church moved to
611 S. Clayton Street in Bloomington,IL. In October of 1998, God
blessed us to purchase the church at our present location.
