ABOUT THE WALK OF FAITH
HISTORY
After having services for two years under the name of First Community Church, the Walk of Faith was founded as a ministry within the church. Just two months later in September of 1985, the Walk of Faith Church was founded with twenty-five members. The vision to improve to quality of life for citizen of the Mississippi Delta began. PURPOSE
Walk of Faith Ministry / Church is a nondenominational Christian Church that seeks to provide a place to meet and worship Jesus Christ. Strong emphasis is put on "taking the Word of God, lining it up with what you say and allowing it to become manifested in your life".
INDIVIDUAL PURPOSES OF THE WALK OF FAITH
1. To teach and show people how to apply the Word of God in every day life.
2. To effect the Mississippi Delta with the Word, bringing it off the bottom of the statistical ladder.
3. To teach youth how to live out Christianity so that this area of Mississippi could be an example of how children can change life style.
4. To restore the old waste places and show people how to find "water in the mist of the desert".

YOUTH MINISTRY
With many activities, youth are discipled and developed into strong children with a good solid foundation.
KID’S CAMP
Children are given a place to go on Saturday to be fed the Word of God. This evangelism tool is used to reach the unchurched.
YOUTH ENTREPRENEUR GROUP (ONE IN THE SPIRIT)
A downtown store building has been secured by the church and donated to the youth . Group is taught business first hand. Training to sell and telemarket a business from ground up encourages youth entrepreneurs as well as character building. We have arranged for internships and other experiential settings to enable promising young people to get a head start in building their future careers.
PRISON MINISTRY
Evangelism is an important aspect of the ministry. Walk of Faith is blessed to have four Mississippi Penitentiary certified volunteer chaplains who take a strong deliverance and growth ministry into the Mississippi prison system. Several times a year, the total ministry sponsors a prison wide service at the prison chapel. Literature is issued , thanks to ministries such as Kenneth Copeland Prison Ministry and others.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG OUTREACH
The Walk of Faith is blessed to have an on staff Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Group sessions and individual counseling take place on a regular basis.
HOME FOR TEENAGE GIRLS
Plans for a home for Teenage troubled girls are in the makings. The Mississippi Delta is known for a high rate of teenage pregnancy. Many of these children are from a one parent home. There is also a high rate of pregnancy of young girls being pregnant by adult males. We believe that re- education is the only answer. Our plans are to increase our already vigorous program to girls.
