About Our Church:
NORTH SHORE BAPTIST CHURCH is a growing congregation located on the westside of Peabody, MA at 706 Lowell Street. Being a major east/west thoroughfare of the city, Lowell Street is easily accessed by Interstate 95, MA Routes 1 and 128, Boston Street - Salem, and Main Street - Lynnfield.
NORTH SHORE members reside in the cities of Peabody, Salem, Beverly, Lawrence, and Lynn, and the towns of Hamilton, Wenham, Topsfield, Rowley, and Amesbury. Our vision, then, is to touch not only our Lowell Street neighborhood in Peabody, but to extend the influence of the Gospel through our members to the entire North Shore.
NORTH SHORE is affiliated with the Greater Boston Baptist Association, the Baptist Convention of New England, and the Southern Baptist Convention (the largest non-Catholic denomination in America.) This provides us with a network, opportunities, and resources to impact our region, the nation, and the world for Jesus Christ. Check out our web links below to see what we mean!
Our goal at NORTH SHORE is to be a well-rounded congregation, healthy and active in the areas of ministry that define the total body of Christ -- Prayer and Worship, Education and Discipleship, Missions and Evangelism, Stewardship and Pastoral Care. Rather than superimpose a church program or personality, we strive to nurture and employ the giftedness of every member -- empowering ministry from the inside out. The result is that we are neither “contemporary” nor “traditional.” We are, simply, who we are in Christ!
On Sunday, we worship together beginning at 9:30 am. We blend choruses with great hymns of the faith, have an open season of prayer, and include a special time just for the children. After worship, we take some time to catch up with one another or introduce ourselves to new friends during the “coffee break.”
At 11:00 am, we offer an hour of Bible study for all ages. Adults have two choices of curricula, and group discussions are lively and insightful. Many folks linger after class to continue conversations and build on new-found friendships.
On Sunday at 6:00 pm, we gather to worship in a more contemporary style. If you . . . like to praise the Lord with Scripture-based choruses accompanied by guitar, . . . want an opportunity to tell how God is moving in your life, . . . enjoy the public reading of the Word, . . . then Sunday nights are for you! (Of course, some Sundays we have to start at 5:00 pm to make room for a potluck supper.)
Times to pray, study, and encourage one another during the week are also available. On Wednesday night we meet together at a home in Peabody. Men’s groups meet every other Monday night and every other Wednesday morning at the church building. Women gather every other Thursday night in Rowley.
